Well, I'm not sure what version of Runuo your using, so this idea might not be any good to you. Time System with season changeI love this script as it opens up loads of possibilities for a shard. Its basically a clock that you can set up which will create a constant game time within the shard. This will allow time/day/month/year activated events/spawns within the shard. It will also control lampposts etc.. turning them on and off during the day/night change over periods. the script can be found on the runuo forums i think it was made by Liacs. (i carnt post the link as the runuo forum is down atm  ) The script runs on a [runuo 2.0 rc2] shard with no issues as im using a modified version of the script on my test shard. |

One is done by Liacs, the other done by Morxeton. Liacs version is simple dealing with time and seasons, I couldn't find any posting about controlling the time in hers nor the other. Morxeton's system seemed more complex, and had evil spirits that spawn during dark hours in the graveyards and such. Was it one of these two that you are referring to or is there another hiding beneath the piles of RunUO scripts? Thanks! ;D |

Thanks! ;D The one i was talking about was Liacs but that was a mod of Morxeton's original script (i think the one your talking about is his new updated one which i haven't tried). In the script you can set how many real time seconds = game time seconds, change the number of days/months or even the amount of days per year. The way i used it in the past is (i know alot of my strange usages probably wont fit your shard ;D).. A spawner which ties into this system which will spawn and de-spawn things by using in-game time rather than system time. Eg.. vendors despawning at 18:00 and re-spawning at 6:00 (i dont think alot of players will like that though  ). Also using the timespawner to trigger special npc's that follow waypoints around towns etc. Custom day/month configuration.. i set this system up for a discworld time eg.. 13 months and 8 day week. It also announced holidays and special occasions. eg. "Hog watch night" * a word of warning* The default settings do need abit of tweeking otherwise it will be very very dark on the server at night time. |

Wonderful! Thanks for clarifying and I will be sure to check it out once I finish attempting to script new ores, leathers, and woods for the shard Lol I'm still trying to relearn, two years away and no scripting or shard business has me extremely rusty unfortunately  Lol I will definitely see about adding the time system tho, it sounds fun! I think that in our previous Kenaz shard we had Morxeton's system in, because I vaguely remember the evil spirits spawning in graveyards during the evening hours, this time I think we will try Liacs version, it seems less complex then the other =) Thanks again for the suggestion! ;D |
